Ebony White is the Associate Director of the Racial Wealth Divide at Prosperity Now in Washington, DC. In this role, she provides tailored technical assistance and support to nonprofits of color to increase their leadership and capacity building within the ecosystem of asset building, racial wealth divide, and lifting-up best practices that impact the racial economic inequalities in their communities. She supports knowledgeable and intentional understanding, awareness, and the impact of programs and policy as it relates to the Racial Wealth Divide, as well as strengthening Prosperity Now's racial wealth divide analysis in its work. Additionally, she leads and writes the publications of local racial wealth divide profiles for communities lifting up racial economic inequalities. Lastly, White brings a unique perspective and lens given her extensive experience in advancing the conversation on race, culture, as well as promoting the interests of diversity, equity and inclusion as a bridge to greater understanding in communities and organizations.
Prior to joining Prosperity Now, she worked as a program manager for the Racial Equity, Truth, Racial Healing & Transformation (TRHT), and Civic Engagement team at the W.K. Kellogg Foundation. In this role, she supported the national and place-based strategic programming functions at the foundation while acting as a key resource in the compilation, organization, utilization and communication of information and knowledge. She serves as an internal and external liaison/coordinator with ongoing programming efforts and provided technical support to grantees and colleagues. She also holds a Master of Public Administration degree with a nonprofit leadership management emphasis from Western Michigan University.
